this resonated with me in so many ways as a 16 yr old girl who got her first miniskirt not long ago. and ive experienced this way before the miniskirt too. once i started dressing up and stuff to be like the cool girls i saw online the things ive experienced in irl have made me want to stop completely but we presist. This conversation is so important because im not wearing my miniskirt to seduce anyone im wearing it because i like it and thats it

Great piece. I really like how you highlight the simultaneous feelings of power and discomfort one can feel from being the object of the male gaze. It’s a spectrum really. I had a similar disillusionment as a teenage girl in how my clothing was received by adult men, and it left a bad taste.
